There are a number of great training programs that will get you ready to run at your desired pace to cross the finish line. These include several wonderful national charity programs, online training programs and regional training programs.
Since founding Personal Best Training in 1991, Coach Matt Ebersole has worked with more than 7,000 runners of all abilities and aspirations. He has helped thousands run their first or best half and full marathons; hundreds qualify for the Boston Marathon; three (3) CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon winners and nine (9) qualify for the Olympic Trials. Matt offers group training programs and highly individualized private coaching to help runners get faster, pursue new challenges, or simply have more fun running. - Suggested distances and routes (on a “basic training progression” with plenty of room to add/subtract based on experience level).

- Special events during the Training Program include an organized Course Preview on a 9-mile special of the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon course and the annual “Run the Monon” event from Carmel (20-mile training run) or Broad Ripple (11-mile training run) to downtown, followed by lunch.
- Cheer Zone at the Race itself to meet up and celebrate our accomplishments while cheering in the rest of the field.
The Riviera Club Fall training program is a 16-week program, meeting every Thursday throughout the Summer and Fall. The group runs will focus on speed work and optional post-run strength or yoga training sessions. The training program also includes three (3) Saturday long group runs and all training program participants will receive a shirt.
The informational kick off is July 18 at 6 PM. The training runs will begin on July 25th also at 6 PM.

Athletic Annex with Lindsey Hein, is proud to offer a Fall Half and Full Marathon Training Program! We will take you from week 1 all the way to the finish line on Nov 9th. Runs and walks will take place north and south on the Monon Trail from our new Nora Plaza store on Thursday nights and hydration will be provided on the course.

The Indy Chinese Runners Club (IndyCRC) was founded in 2014. The group’s mission is to encourage Chinese Americans to actively participate in running. The group meets from Rohrer Road Monon Entrance (14178 Rohrer Rd, Carmel, 46032) on every Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 AM.
IndyCRC is a home for walkers & runners of Chinese Americans. These include training, racing, and socializing. All interested individuals are welcome regardless of age or ability. IndyCRC can be reached via the IndyCRC website or the IndyCRC Facebook page.

Speedway Running Club is a running and walking club open to all ability levels. The purpose of the club is to provide a fun, safe environment to help keep you focused and accountable toward your fitness goals. We are a 501(c)(3) organization sponsored by Daredevil Brewing Co. Our workouts begin at Daredevil Tap Room on Main Street along Speedway Trails, every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Distance, pace and time is your choice or you can join fellow members. After our workouts, we enjoy fellowship among one another in the brewery while recovering with a cold, refreshing beer. The Westfield Running Club (WRC) was founded by Angie Smitherman and Joel Rush in April 2015. The group’s mission is to promote an active lifestyle while building relationships through supporting and mentoring our members. Group runs are on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM and Saturday mornings at 8:00 AM. WRC utilize all of Westfield’s trails but do occasionally venture out to join other surrounding running clubs. The Bloomington Area Runners Association (BARA) hosts Saturday morning long runs from Bryan Park at 7-8am and Monday and Thursday evening group runs and workouts from Switchyard Brewery at 6 pm. Beginning July 15, through the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon on November 9, long runs and workouts follow a training plan specifically building up to either the Marathon or the Half Marathon. Weekday group runs and/or workouts from Switchyard Brewery range from 1.5 to 5 miles at the start of the season, building to as much as 10 miles at the peak of marathon training. Saturday morning long runs meet in the NW corner of Bryan Park, in the parking lot near the intersection of Henderson and Dixie. We follow a set distance progression for long runs, but always have multiple options for each race distance.
Ohio - Cincinnati & Columbus-areas
Welcome to the home of Queen City Running & Walking Club – now in its 4th year in the Greater Cincinnati area. Whether you are an experienced or novice runner, run/walker or walker, the Queen City Running & Walking Club has a program for you. The current group membership is over 700 runners & walkers, which simply means that you will have plenty of company out on the roads and during our workouts. Fall Marathon Training – Running & Run/Walk Our Fall Marathon Running training kicks off on July 7 for the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon as one of the club’s goal training races. The club can easily cater to those with a different race in mind. Queen City Running & Walking Club will offer a variety of mid-week workout options – Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at various sites around the Cincinnati & West Chester areas. Saturday mornings will be the primary long run workout, with Sunday morning makeup runs always an option. Queen City Running & Walking Club will provide “on-course” coach/pace group support, monthly training schedule, planned workout routes, hydration/nutrition stations along routes, safety lights (when needed) and plenty of motivation and support that comes with the “team-like” environment. This program is open to experienced and first-time marathoners alike, but they do ask that 5-6 miles is a comfortable distance for you when starting out.
Fall Marathon season is the best! Regardless of where you are headed for your big event, Fleet Feet has your training covered. Fleet Feet Cincinnati’s comprehensive and adjustable fall training plans will allow participants to customize for most of all major fall marathons; including the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. The Louisville Distance Project is the most comprehensive training program that Louisville has to offer! By partnering with local health and fitness professionals, product vendors, skillful coaches, LDP Ambassadors, and local race organizers, our program provides an unparalleled training experience. This community is open to runners and walkers of ALL paces. Fleet Feet Louisville will be training for the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Full Marathon on November 3rd, 2018.
