Gear Check will be located along the Indiana Government Center building on the north side of Washington Street, near the intersection of West Street. Please refer to the Race Morning Map for the exact location.

Please plan to arrive early! Gear Check lines typically get longer as race start times approach. Allow plenty of time to drop off your bag and make your way to the Start Line.

All participants will receive their official clear gear check bag at the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo and Packet Pickup on Thursday, November 5, or Friday, November 6.

YOU MUST USE THIS BAG AS YOUR GEAR CHECK BAG. Before arriving at Gear Check, please place the sticker with your bib number on the front of your clear bag, directly below the logo.

All bags are subject to search, and any bag other than the official clear plastic bag provided at the Expo will be turned away. Unattended bags outside the designated Gear Check area will be removed by security. Any unclaimed gear will be donated to a local charity.

The Marathon and Half Marathon will feature a rolling wave start to help ensure a safe and smooth race morning experience. Please review the Race Morning Map to familiarize yourself with the Start Line layout and wave entrances before race day.

Your assigned start wave can be found in your Beyond Monumental participant account and is indicated by the first letter on your race bib.

Participants must enter their assigned wave or may move back to a later, slower wave. Moving forward into a faster wave is not permitted. For everyone’s safety, please use designated wave entrances. Jumping fences, moving barricades, or entering waves through unauthorized areas is strictly prohibited.

The Marathon and Half Marathon utilize a rolling start, meaning your official race time does not begin until you physically cross the Start Line timing mats.

The 5K will feature a self-seeded start to help ensure a safe and efficient race morning experience. Please review the Race Morning Map to familiarize yourself with the Start Line location before race day.

Pace signs will be displayed throughout the Start Line area to help participants position themselves according to their anticipated pace.

Participants are asked to self-seed appropriately, with faster runners lining up toward the front, slower runners toward the middle, and walkers toward the back.

For everyone’s safety, please follow posted signage and instructions from race officials and volunteers.
