We are excited that you’re planning to run the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon and Half Marathon. There are a number of great training programs that will get you ready to run at your desired pace to cross the finish line. These include several wonderful national charity programs, online training programs and regional training programs.
The Running/Walking Program from Fitness Concepts is a 16-week training for women of all ages and experience levels who wish to participate in group walk or runs, valuable group seminars and individual coaching. The program is the perfect opportunity to make walking, running and training properly a permanent and enjoyable part of your life. An open information session will be held July 14th at Fitness Concepts.

The Running Company and St. Francis partner to provide a training program for the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. The experts at The Running Company have been helping runners and walkers train for the marathon and half-marathon for a decade, and offer a program for all fitness and experience levels. You’ll receive a daily training program, meet for group run/walks each week and have regular communication with coaches and professionals.
With the help of St. Francis, you’ll also receive valuable education on a variety of health and fitness topics. You’ll receive practical information about how to successfully train for and complete the marathon or half-marathon. Many participants are beginners, so don’t be intimidated! While we can’t guarantee you’ll be the fastest through the streets of Indy, most people complete our training program successfully, many accomplishing personal best times.
One of the regional programs is the KLA’s summer/fall half-marathon and marathon training class located in downtown Indianapolis.
KLA believe that there is much more to running and walking a road race than just putting one foot in front of the other. We feel that going out and just doing mileage, whether individually or with a group, is not sufficient to adequately meet your goals.
Although there are group runs and walks at each session, the focus is on coaching and providing relevant instruction.
