WHEN WILL REGISTRATION FOR THE CNO FINANCIAL INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MARATHON OPEN?

Registration opens at 12:00 a.m. ET on January 1 and closes at noon ET on Wednesday, October 25, unless the race sells out before this date.

In-person registration may be available at the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo on Thursday, October 26, and Friday, October 27, subject to availability.

DO YOU OFFER A MILITARY OR FIRST RESPONDER DISCOUNT?

Beyond Monumental is honored to offer a discount to active U.S. Military members and their immediate family members, U.S. Military veterans and their immediate family members, and active and retired first responders (law enforcement, fire services, emergency medical services, and emergency management officials) and their immediate family members. Qualified individuals can receive a 10 percent (10%) discount off the price at the time of registration.

Email a copy of your or your immediate family member’s military or work photo ID or DD214 to INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG to request the discount.

WILL EACH RACE BE CERTIFIED?

All CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon race distances are certified by USATF. All USATF rules apply.

IS THE CNO FINANCIAL INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MARATHON PART OF INDYTHON?

Yes – INDYTHON unites Beyond Monumental’s annual events!

INDYTHON Premier: Complete the Indianapolis 5K and Monumental Mile, the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben, and the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon to earn INDYTHON Premier awards.

INDYTHON Ultra: Complete races at the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben and the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon with a cumulative distance greater than 26.2 miles to qualify for INDYTHON Ultra awards.

INDYTHON: Complete races at the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben and the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon with a cumulative distance less than or equal to 26.2 miles to qualify for INDYTHON awards.

IS THERE A VIRTUAL OPTION TO PARTICIPATE?

The virtual Marathon in a Month is back! Register for MARATHON IN A MONTH to complete 26.2 miles – virtually and in increments of your choice – during the month of November.

You can also sign up for the Road to Lady Victory Challenge! The redesigned Road to Lady Victory Challenge is a 1-Month virtual running and/or walking challenge that spans the month of March. The 2023 package includes a Brooks participant shirt and a special-edition medal. Learn more HERE.

WHAT DOES MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT SUPPORT?

Beyond Monumental is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Proceeds from Beyond Monumental events support the Apex Benefits Monumental Kids Movement, a seven-to-nine-week youth running program that culminates with students running a 5K. The bi-weekly program focuses on engaging and educating youth about the benefits of physical fitness and healthy living. You can find more information about our beneficiaries here!

WHAT IF I ENTERED THE WRONG INFORMATION WHEN I REGISTERED OR I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE SOMETHING ON MY REGISTRATION?

Log in to your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT to update your information. Email our team at INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG with questions or if you need help.

WHAT IS THE CUTOFF DATE TO CUSTOMIZE THE NAME ON MY RACE BIB?

You must be registered for the Marathon, Half Marathon, or 5K by 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, to customize the name on your race bib.

Your name will not be custom printed on your race bib if you register or modify your race registration after the deadline.

WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION CUTOFF TO HAVE MY NAME ON THE COMMEMORATIVE POSTER?

You must be registered by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, September 15, to have your name added to the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon commemorative poster, which will be available for digital download.

MAY I UPGRADE OR DOWNGRADE MY RACE REGISTRATION?

Upgrading your registration includes changing to a longer distance and changing to a shorter distance that is more expensive than your original registration fee. You must pay the price difference to upgrade (plus processing fees); we do not offer refunds to downgrade.

You can log in to your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT to process your upgrade/downgrade until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, subject to availability.
– There is no additional fee to upgrade/downgrade before the above deadline.

You may submit a request to upgrade/downgrade to INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG from Thursday, September 28, 2023, until noon ET on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, subject to availability.
– There is a $10.00 fee (plus processing fees) to upgrade/downgrade from September 7-October 4, 2023.

Any requests after noon ET on October 25, must be handled in person with Runner Services at Packet Pickup, subject to availability and applicable fees.

MAY I TRANSFER MY RACE REGISTRATION TO SOMEONE ELSE?

You can transfer your registration until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. There is a $20.00 fee (plus processing fees) to transfer a registration.

Log in to your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT and select the “Transfer an Existing Entry to a New Registrant” option. You will receive a transfer code via email to give to the new participant to transfer themself into the race.

You may not transfer your registration after the above deadline or give, exchange, or sell your participant bib to any other person.

MAY I DEFER MY RACE REGISTRATION?

We offer deferrals to the 2024 Event with proof of injury, pregnancy, or military deployment. The deferral fee is $20.00 (plus processing fees). Please submit your supporting doctor’s note or proof of deployment to INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG by 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

To remain fair and consistent, deferrals will only be applicable and approved for the injured, pregnant, or deployed participant.

If you need or would like additional medical support or information, please email MEDICAL@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG to be connected directly to IU Health, the Official Medical Provider of the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon.

MAY I CANCEL MY RACE REGISTRATION?

Yes, you may cancel your registration at any time by reaching out to INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG. All fees (registration, ancillary products, etc.) are non-refundable.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE EVENT IS CANCELED?

The Event may be postponed, ended early, or canceled by an Event or government official for circumstances beyond the Event’s reasonable control. Circumstances beyond the Event’s reasonable contract include but are not limited to war, epidemic, civil or political unrest, terrorism, curtailment of transportation, or inclement weather. If the Event cannot take place for reasons outside of the Event’s control, registered participants will have the option to choose one of the following options, based on when the event cancelation occurs:

If the Event is canceled prior to May 31, 2023, participants may choose to have their race registration fee:

– Refunded 50%, less any processing fees
– Converted from in-person registration to virtual registration*
– Deferred to 2024 event registration (no extra fee to participate in 2024)
– Donated to support APEX BENEFITS MONUMENTAL KIDS MOVEMENT

If the event is canceled June 1, 2023–September 15, 2023, participants may choose to have their race registration fee:

– Refunded 25%, less any processing fees
– Converted from in-person registration to virtual registration*
– Forfeited to support Beyond Monumental and receive 50% off 2024 registration fee
– Donated to support APEX BENEFITS MONUMENTAL KIDS MOVEMENT

If the event is canceled August 16, 2023-Race Week, all race registrations will be converted to virtual race registrations.

* All registrations converted from in-person race registration to virtual race registration will be refunded the difference between the in-person race registration fee and the registration fee of the corresponding virtual race, less any applicable processing fees.

CAN I BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE RACE?

You will be disqualified if:
– You are not wearing your assigned race bib.
– You are found to be wearing two or more Event-issued timing devices during the race and your results will not be recorded.
– You leave the course.
– You are found to have intentionally shortened the route of the course.

You may be disqualified if:
– You attempt to enter a start wave to which you are not assigned.
– You are missing or have irregular split times at official timing checkpoints.
– You are found to have received assistance from any person other than approved Event personnel including guide runners, support runners, and pacers.

Please note, your race entry/bib number is unique to your registration and may not be sold to any other individual.

All finish times are reviewed before times are deemed official. Participants will be given the opportunity to appeal unofficial finish times before the finish times are made official.

Participants must begin the Event during the officially recognized start time in order to register an official finish time.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR MY RACE BIB?

Registered participants must wear their assigned race bib at all times during the Event. Your bib should be worn conspicuously on the front (and back when applicable) for the entire Event.

No one is allowed to participate in the Event without their assigned race bib.

WILL I GET MY THROW-AWAY ITEMS BACK?

No. All items (clothes, hats, gloves, etc.) discarded along the course will be picked up and donated to a local charity.

To help make the race start experience as safe as possible for all participants, please discard throw-away items over the fence to help keep the roadway clear of hazards.

When on the course please discard clothing on sidewalks and at Aid Stations when possible.

WILL ENERGY GELS BE AVAILABLE ON THE COURSE?

Yes, energy gels will be available along the Monumental Marathon course near miles 10.5, 15.5, and 22 and near mile 8.5 of the Monumental Half Marathon course. We will share the expected flavors as we get closer to Race Day.

WHAT HYDRATION WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE COURSE?

On-course hydration will be provided by Beyond Monumental’s official hydration provider, Nuun Hydration. Nuun Endurance Lemon Lime is the expected flavor available on the full and half marathon courses.

HOW MANY RESTROOMS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE COURSE?

Port-o-lets will be available at the start and finish lines and at all aid stations. We ask that you please be kind and courteous to the Indianapolis residents and neighborhoods.

WILL RACE DAY PHOTOS BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?

MarathonFoto will have photographers on hand to capture the event. You can choose from the available photos of your heroic effort. You can pre-purchase your MarathonFoto Package before the race by logging into your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT and selecting Buy Products.
