Training

The Anderson Road Runners Club was formed in 1979 to promote fitness through running and walking. We have programs and events for all abilities and ages. Roady Racers is the name of our FREE weekly children’s fun run. They are held on Tuesdays at Shadyside park with a 1/4 mile for the young ones, and a 1 mile race for 5 years old thru Middle School. Our family oriented Point Series is on Thursdays for 20 weeks April thru October. Adults can compete in their age group, or participate for fun in these organized, weekly timed races. Some parents are pushing their young ones in strollers, or running with their young teens to pursue a healthy lifestyle together. We have several cross-country teams honing their skills, and other teens learning and running alongside their grandparents. You will find a place in our club because we are all ages and all abilities. Some are just beginning, others are Boston Finishers or 50 State Marathoners and everything in between. There really is something for everyone.

The Anderson Road Runners holds two big events to cover expenses of our non-profit club, the Roady Racers, our Scholarship Fund, and a few local charities we support. The White River Run is on a paved trail around Shadyside Lakes, along the White River, and over our nostalgic Blue Bridge. Our Run The Mounds is a true trail race in the fall at Mounds State Park when the leaves are bursting with color.

Please visit our web-site at AndersonRoadRunners.org to find out more information, and join us to discover how running or walking with friends will be the highlight of your week!
